What it does
Geofence Watch searches public posts, news and public-interest signals for a drawn area and time window, and labels each result with its platform, account category, a link to the original and how confident the location is.
What it does not do
- No logins to third-party sites and no scraping against platform terms — official public APIs and feeds only.
- No facial recognition, no predictive policing, no scoring or prediction about people.
- No automatic discovery of accounts and no cross-platform identity matching. Accounts in a case are entered by an investigator, with a case number and stated reason, and every collection is audited.
- Most platforms do not expose post locations. "Inferred" locations come from place names in the text and can be wrong. Map paths show posted locations, not confirmed movements.
Using results
Results are leads to verify, not conclusions. For a missing child or anyone in danger, call 911; tips go to the investigating agency and to NCMEC at 1-800-THE-LOST. Private account data, location history or subscriber records come from the platform through legal process (preservation request, subpoena, court order or warrant), not from this tool.
Data & privacy
Area-level aggregation by default; configurable retention (pinned evidence is kept separately as snapshots with capture time and SHA-256); sign-in, user changes and case lookups are logged. Demo data is fictional and labelled.
Geofence Watch makes no certification or compliance claims. Each organisation is responsible for its own legal review, policies and approvals before use.
